John F. Weigold, IV has more than 30 years of experience working with senior leaders across a variety of public, private, and government organizations developing strategy and executing plans and operations. Most recently, Mr. Weigold served as the general manager for the Cambria Community Services District in Cambria, CA where he was responsible for water, wastewater treatment, solid waste disposal, fire protection and emergency services, street lighting services, as well as community services such as parks, recreation, and open space. Of particular importance to Montecito, Mr. Weigold was also responsible for the operation of Cambria’s advanced water treatment plant to recycle wastewater.
Previous to his work in Cambria, Mr. Weigold served on the board and led the southwest region for Water Intelligence, PLC, a publicly traded international company that provides non-invasive water leak detection and remediation services through 140+ corporately-owned and franchise locations in the United States, Canada, Australia, Spain, Belgium and select other countries. Mr. Weigold also served as a faculty member at the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs at Yale University, where he led a team of undergraduate seniors in a capstone course to complete a public policy project on behalf of government agencies, not-for-profits, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and private sector entities in the United States and abroad.
Mr. Weigold also served over 33 years in the U.S. Navy, including his last role as a Rear Admiral in the U.S. Navy as the Reserve Deputy Commander for the U.S. Pacific Fleet, headquartered at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, with responsibility for 200 ships/aircraft, and more than 140,000 sailors and civilians in the Indo-Pacific region.
Mr. Weigold is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science with a specialty in Resources Management. He is also a graduate of the Naval War College and the Joint Forces Staff College.
